As a result of the difficult economic climate, hunger is at an all time high in San Diego. In response, the 74,000 students, staff and faculty of SDSU, UCSD, CSUSM, and PLNU are doing their part to help feed the community by participating in the Colleges Rock Hunger contest Oct. 5 – 28, hosted by the San Diego Food Bank.  Each university is competing to see which campus community can collect the most food donations to kick off the SD Food Bank Holiday Drive.

MBAC would like to encourage participation in the drive by offering a free kayak rental for donations of 5 non-perishable or canned food items in our bin at MBAC, or for donations of $20 or more to the Virtual Pantry of the school of your choice.  The Virtual Pantry is a tool where you can donate cash online where every dollar donated is equivalent to 3.84 lbs. of food and provides three meals for San Diegans in need.
Be sure to do your part to help our San Diego community by donating and then bring your food items, or a receipt of your Virtual Pantry donation and enjoy a free kayak rental on us!
*limit of one free kayak rental per person*
*Donations must be received by October 28*
