MBAC Paddling Instructors earn ACA certification

In January Mission Bay Aquatic Center hosted a Stand Up Paddle Instructor Certification Workshop led by American Canoe Association (ACA) Instructor Trainer Jose Gonzalez.  In addition to the MBAC paddling instructors, participants included paddlers of various backgrounds looking to increase their skill level of stand up paddleboard instruction.  Their dedication to learning these skills was quickly apparent when weather forced them to battle rough winds and rain throughout the week of training. Paddle under 2016’s closest supermoon

The supermoon on November 14th will not only be the biggest and brightest of 2016, but will be the closest to earth since 1948. This rare occurrence is sure to catch your eye as the supermoon rises in the east on November 13th when it will be the fullest in America.  A unique and exciting way to view this event is from the water in our Moonlight Kayaking or Moonlight Stand Up Paddling excursions. A SUPrise Proposal

On a beautiful morning in December Lael and her boyfriend Tom came to MBAC for a nice, leisurely paddle on Mission Bay. The two embarked on the bay for a fun day of adventure. Little did Lael know Tom had bigger plans for their morning paddle. With camera in hand on the beach, our staff tracked their progress to the east side of Sail Bay where Tom caught Lael by surprise.
