MBAC camp gets a new lookThis spring, the youth camp at the Mission Bay Aquatic Center will be revealing a new look for our camp program, complete with new name and logo. Camp will now simply be called The Water Sports Camp, and may sometimes include the subtext, at the Mission Bay Aquatic Center. MBAC Programs Manager, Kevin Waldick, indicated that the name change was meant to simplify the brand into an easier to remember name. “When I asked people what they called us when they talked about our camp, nobody said they called us Mission Bay Youth Water Sports Camp,” said Waldick. “That name was too long and complex for that use. The Water Sports Camp (at the Mission Bay Aquatic Center) was already unofficially being used as our name, now we’re just making it official.” Kevin also hoped that the simplified name, along with associated symbol, a stylized wave in a circle, will help customers to connect with the brand in a more memorable way. The timing of the new name and logo also presented the opportunity to present an entire new, modern look for camp publications and materials. “The sneak peek of the logo in this newsletter is just a preview.” explains Waldick. “Keep your eye out for new brochures, website, and other materials coming this spring.” The Mission Bay Aquatic Center has been running youth camps every spring and summer for over 30 years. Spring Camp 2010 starts March 29 and runs weekly through April 23. Please see the camp website for more information. What do you think of the new camp logo?
