US SAILING certifications: Go where the wind takes you

US SAILING LOGO

Have you ever dreamed of sailing through the tropical, blue waters of the Caribbean or to exotic, ports in the Pacific Ocean?  With a US SAILING certification you can possess an internationally recognized passport to sail the world.

US SAILING is the national governing body of the sport of sailing in the United States and has the authority to issue certifications as evidence of sailing proficiency for the purpose of chartering, renting, or insuring sailboats. The Mission Bay Aquatic Center is a US SAILING accredited instructional facility that offers some of the country’s finest sailing instruction right here on the calm waters of Mission Bay.  MBAC offers two levels of certification in the US SAILING Keelboat series, the Basic Keelboat and Basic Cruising certifications.  Earning the Basic Keelboat Certification (obtained through participating in Keelboat Sailing Level 1, Level 2, & Level 3) is the first of many steps that US SAILING offers to help you become a better sailor.  The Basic Cruising class expands your sailing knowledge and experience by covering coastal navigation, emergency procedures, electrical systems, engine use, and GPS. Upon completion of the Basic Cruising class, you will earn your US SAILING Basic Cruising Certification.

These certifications offer you the chance to escape the mundane into a world of adventure by chartering your own sailboat.  A US SAILING Basic Cruising certification is recognized by sailboat charter companies around the world as proof that you have demonstrated the skills necessary to independently captain a chartered sailboat and drop anchor at the location of your dreams.

By developing your sailing experience through the Mission Bay Aquatic Center, you open the doors to a life of unbound sailing. Whether you are an experienced sailor looking to enhance your skills with a US SAILING certification or are interested in learning for the first time, sailing classes at MBAC are your opportunity to take part in an activity which is exhilarating and extremely rewarding.  Sign up for a sailing class today at the Mission Bay Aquatic Center (858) 488-1000, or visit us at www.mbaquaticcenter.com
