Classroom to Coast program introduces youth to sailing and science
Science, sailing, and ocean stewardship merged together for 45 students from Gompers Academy in MBAC’s first Classroom to Coast program. The program consisted of 4 classroom visits by MBAC instructors culminating in a field trip to MBAC to learn to sail. Each days activities were designed to promote student-driven learning and correlated with Next Generation Science Standards. Read More
Summer’s SDSU Surfing Experience
Last spring SDSU biology student Summer Williams took part in one of our semester-long surfing classes. Her weekly surfing class served as a much-needed break from her otherwise stressful studies. Day on the Bay event provides access to watersports
On October 8th over 100 participants with disabilities enjoyed a Day on the Bay with sun, fun and access to watersports. At this bi-annual event, trained MBAC instructors and specialized equipment provide opportunities for people with disabilities to participate in watersports that they might otherwise never have the chance to experience.
