Our San Diego sailing program is rivaled by no other collegiate facility in the nation in its diversity and depth. If you want to learn how to sail, our classes are very thorough and provide many hours of supervised sailing instruction on the water. Our small boat sailing classes are built on the premise that you will begin learning how to sail in a small, single-handed boat and progress into larger, more complex sailboats. If you progress through the Basic, Advanced and Hobie Cat or Laser sailing classes you can earn a USSAILING Small Boat Certification.

For those of you who have the dream of someday chartering a sailboat and sailing to a tropical oasis, you are not alone. Our Basic Keelboat classes and Basic Cruising course are perfect for you! Our Basic Keelboat class series uses J/24s to teach the mechanics of sailing a 24 foot keelboat. After you learn the sailing fundamentals, we will teach you the skill of navigation and the art of anchoring. Once you complete instruction in Keelboat Sailing Level I, II and III you are eligible to earn a USSAILING Basic Keelboat Certification and are one step closer to making your sailing dreams come true.

The final step on your path to chartering a boat in the tropics is the Basic Cruising Certification. Completion of this sailing course will earn you your USSailing Basic Cruising Certification which is recognized by charter companies such as The Moorings, and at exotic destinations throughout the world!
